Health Safety and Environmental Statement of Intent

It is the policy of Morrison Facilities Services to fully discharge its statutory obligations and to continually strive to be the benchmark of health and safety best practice, across all sectors in which the business operates. This underpins a commitment for continuous improvement in performance so as to work towards an ultimate goal of causing no accidents or harm to people and the environment.

Morrison Facilities Services sets itself high standards for the well being of its employees, contractors, suppliers, customers and communities served and encourages ownership of health, safety & environmental aspects by all who are involved or affected by its work. A clear objective across all Morrison Facilities Services activities and areas of legitimate influence is to minimise risk to employees and third parties to a level as low as reasonably practicable, through effective health & safety risk management.

Morrison Facilities Services have developed a range of health, safety & environmental protocols that prescribe the mandated arrangements against which each Facilities Services Region or Contract shall operate. The extent of compliance with these protocols will be reviewed annually across existing businesses and additionally, at the time of acquisition of all new businesses. Health and safety audits will be undertaken against an annually agreed programme that includes a high level of check across all aspects of work, with additional specialist audits of activities that have high safety consequence (e.g. asbestos and gas related works).

Health, Safety & Environmental Policy Statements detailing the organisation and arrangements for meeting the content of this Statement of Intent will be developed and put in place across all Morrison Facilities Services Regions and Contracts.

This Statement of Intent will be reviewed at least annually and reported to the Facilities Services Senior Team Management Meeting. Any revision necessary to improve health, safety or environmental performance, or to accommodate changes in organisational structure, will be made and communicated to all employees, contractors and suppliers.

Morrison Facilities Services will ensure that sufficient competent resources are made available to meet the commitments detailed above.
